Chairman's Message

The Ivy Heritage Foundation, Inc. (fka Alpha Gamma Omega Foundation, Inc.) was incorporated in November 1999 by forward-thinking, dedicated and committed women, as a non-profit, charitable foundation seeking to strengthen family life, particularly the capacity of families to nurture and enhance the development of children and youth by providing human resources through programs and projects staffed primarily by volunteers.  These volunteers are recruited by the Foundation from members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc ., Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter and their networks in collaboration with a wide range of community service organizations.

The Ivy Heritage Foundation Inc. is governed by a seventeen (17) member Board of Directors elected from members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc ., Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter.  It is the Board of Directors’ responsibility to assist to secure and manage funds to support the charitable endeavors of the Alpha Gamma Omega Chapter which include awarding over $100,000 in scholarships to high school seniors and graduate students; providing workshops and information regarding personal financial planning, entrepreneurship, financial independence and financial management; encouraging and facilitating participation and education in the arts; providing leadership development opportunities and assistance to high school students to demystify the college application and enrollment process; and promoting good citizenship and community involvement through non-partisan voter empowerment; access to technology, and training of parents as advocates for education and health needs of children.
